Computer Vision: Modelling Groups and Forming Crowds

چکیده

I have long been fascinated by the emergent properties of groups, whether groups of cells, groups of objects, or groups of people. The gestalt behaviour of groups somehow has characteristic properties that are far greater than suggested by the mere sum of their parts. My research focuses on using fundamental ideas from theoretical computational science to tease out insight into groups by studying crowds in computer vision as well as in online communities. In my research, I look to ultimately answer questions like:
